Keep in mind, that in order to keep a group vivid and alive it is important to get a constant flow of new members. This can be a tiny amount. To get new members you need some advertisement. This works through many different ways. Inviting deviants to the group as you invited me is only one of them. What I always love to do is browsing beautiful artworks and request them into the groups gallery, also leaving a comment on the artwork itsself with a tiny note saying, that I have been the one requesting it to the group, and that we would feel honoured if the artist would share future work with the group regularly. That way you show appreciation to the ARTWORKS rather than just requesting a lot of members randomly.
You can also try to affiliate with other groups. Some groups introduce their affiliates to their members.
Another wonderful way is to hold regular features (maybe with a certain theme) which includes works from your groups gallery as well as works from non-members. That way you make visitors come along to have a glance into your gallery, enjoying to be featured at the same time. Also it's very nice to have some regular 'events' going on in the group
